Wassup, everyone! What a year 2020 has turned out to be. Since ALL of my shows for this year were cancelled due to COVID-19, I decided to do something that I've needed to do for a while now. Yep, in the middle of a pandemic, I made the decision to have the spinal fusion back surgery that was long overdue. Go big or go home, I suppose. On June 3rd I went under the knife. For two LONG months afterwards I could barely do anything. I wasn't allowed to bend, lift or twist. I couldn't pick up anything over 5lbs and that included our 2 year old daughter. I am always on the go, so to say this was a long and hard recovery period both mentally and physically is an understatement. Props to my better half for taking on everything so that I could recover. I don't know how she managed to take care of me, a wild toddler, our household and work from home all at the same time, but she did and we all survived. On July 31st I was given clearance to slowly resume normal activity. I spent the first week and a half playing with my daughter, but now I have made my way back to the studio. My days are shorter than before as I work my tolerance back up, but man, it feels good to get my hands dirty again. So stay tuned! I am excited to be back and I feel better each day. The constant daily nerve pain is gone and I am excited about what this next chapter will hold for life, art and so much more. I have many projects in the works and look forward to sharing them with you all. Art festivals still aren't happening, but that isn't going to stop me from creating. I hope you all are staying safe and I look forward to seeing you all hopefully sooner than later. Take care and enjoy these pics of my new "hardware".

Much love from my family to yours - Chris Cumbie
